Short Stirrup Camp is held three days per week (Mon, Tue, and Fri) and focuses on furthering the rider’s skill over fences, moving from small lines of cross-rails to incorporating elements encountered in a course.

In addition to riding skills, campers in Short Stirrup Camp will learn horse care and horse-handling skills which will allow them to be more independent and confident with the care of their horses. Short Stirrup Campers have the opportunity to participate in a horse show on Wednesdays of each week of camp. Those who participate in at least three shows during the summer will have the opportunity to participate in the Hampton Classic.

Please note 2009 camp applications will be avalible in January 09.

Req'd equipment : Paddock Boots, ASTM Approved Helmet, Long Pants (Breeches preferred), Tall boots or half chaps, Jumping Bat and Gloves

Experience req'd: W/T/C, jumping small lines
