Horse Camp is a five day a week program (Monday-Friday). Horse Camp is offered to children 8 and older who are able to walk, trot, and canter independently.

Horse Camp covers the basic and most important skills in riding, and is divided into two groups according to the campers’ confidence and skill levels. The “beginner” group will be learning a more secure seat while working toward a goal of cantering confidently. The “intermediate” group begins to jump small cross-rails, and works toward jumping two or three fences in succession.

Horse Campers learn a complete basic grooming routine, and become comfortable caring for their horses and equipment. As an exciting new addition to Horse Camp, there is a Mini-Show each Friday, where campers will get to show off the skills learned during the week. Also, Horse Campers who are interested in joining the Show Team may participate in flat classes at select shows during the summer. Those who participate in at least three shows during the summer (not including weekly Mini Shows) will have the opportunity to participate in the Hampton Classic.

Req'd equipment : Paddock Boots, ASTM Approved Helmet, Long Pants or Chaps

Experience req'd: Walk/Trot independently
